Directing & Dramaturgy Workshop | June 6th

Directing & Dramaturgy: Develop your Fringe show and take it to the next level!

Whether you already have a Fringe show, or are thinking about creating one, this is the workshop for you! A rare opportunity to join Tamara McCarthy and Nicolle Nattrass — who share over 50 years combined theatre experience and are both professional actors, directors, producers, playwrights and dramaturgs — and learn some tricks of the trade.

In this one day intensive, you will walk away with specific skills and techniques to enhance the quality and direction of your script and production. In order to make this unique workshop accessible to all, it is being offered for only $50 per participant! Attend on your own or with your team (playwright, actors, director).

With the gradual easing of restrictions in BC, we are delighted to be able to offer this workshop on June 6th, from 10am-4pm. We have a new venue given the need for maintained social distancing (Hub City Cinema Society studio, 15 Lois Lane, Nanaimo) and have capped attendance at 8 participants plus our two wonderful facilitators.

We will be ensuring the space is thoroughly disinfected and will provide hand sanitizer to all participants. We have received a generous donation of hand-made face masks which will be available for a modest donation of $15, with all proceeds supporting the Nanaimo Fringe Festival during these challenging times for the performing arts sector. Masks are not mandatory and if you would rather bring your own, please feel free to do so.

This public workshop is generously sponsored by Romper Room Indoor Rock Climbing Centre, The Port Theatre and CineCentral Filmmakers Society
