We at Pacific Coast Stage Company and the Nanaimo Fringe Festival stand in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement and BIPOC artists. We recognize that we have benefited from a system that undervalues BIPOC artists and we will continue to educate ourselves, listen, learn, and support marginalized and oppressed BIPOC artists.
Pacific Coast Stage Company and the Nanaimo Fringe Festival work in partnership with local organizations Central Vancouver Island Multicultural Society and Nanaimo Aboriginal Centre to consciously and actively work towards improving inclusivity for racialized communities in our annual programming. These acts of allyship are a beginning; we are committed to how we can and need to do better and we welcome anyone to join us in our ongoing conversation.
