The Nanaimo Fringe Festival will be celebrating the very best of B.C. in 2021, with in-person lottery selected performances showcasing the talented arts professionals in our home province.
For this year only, National and International artists are invited to apply for a Digital component of the festival. Five submissions will be selected by committee.
Performances should comprise of pre-recorded video, audio, virtual/augmented reality experiences or similar. Artists are invited to explore digital theatricality as an innovative new medium open to multiple dramatic interpretations. Digital only artists will receive online donations and a guaranteed fee. Submissions must:
- Be 30-55minutes in length
- Provide a pre-recorded MP4 file and $25 application fee before July 1st, 2021 to be considered.
- Meet basic visual/audio technical standards.
- Adhere to Nanaimo Fringe accessibility standards, at minimum this includes providing closed captions, transcripts, and/or formatting text-based content to be compatible with screen-reader technology.
If selected, digital artists must remit a further $75 participation fee by July 31st, 2021.
